Centro de Kofu. Takeda Shingen (01/12/1521 -- 13/05/1573) nasceu em Shinano, na província de Kai. De nome Takeda Katsuchiyo, teve seu nome trocado para Takeda Harunobu com autorização do Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiharu. Em 1559, mudou novamente o nome, desta vez para Takeda Shingen. Shin siginifica acreditar/crer e Gen significa preto (ambos em chinês). Preto é a cor da verdade e da inteligência no budismo. Ele tb é conhecido como Tigre de Kai. Shingen foi o primeiro filho de Takeda Nobutora, líder do clã Takeda e daimyo de Kai. Auxiliou o pai na administração da província e no relacionamento dentro e fora do clã, tornando-se desde jovem influente reconhecido em seu clã. Em algum momento rebelou-se contra o pai. Nobutora então escolheu como sucessor, seu outro filho Takeda Nobushige. Shingen então tomou o poder, enviando seu pai para a província de Suruga, onde ele ficou sobre custódia do clã Imagawa, formando uma aliança entre os dois clãs. Sucedeu seu pai no comando do clã aos 21 anos. Seu primeiro ato após obter total controle do clã, foi conquistar os arredores de Kai, começando por toda Shinano. Os maiores daimyos de Shinano marcharam juntos na esperança de neutralizar o clã Takeda antes que ele tivesse chance de expandir seus domínios. Esperando derrotá-lo em Fuchu onde Shingen reuniria tropas, forum surpreendidos pelo repentino ataque das forças Takeda quando ainda estavam em Sezawa. Visita ao Castelo de Kofu, em Yamanashi. Kofu (甲府市; Kōfu-shi) é uma cidade japonesa localizada na província de Yamanashi. History of Kōfu Castle After the Takeda family succumbed, Kai Province became the fiefdom of Oda Nobunaga. When Oda died it came under the governance of Tokugawa Ieyasu. When Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified the country, he ordered the castle's construction. It was begun in 1583 and later completed by Toyotomi's brother-in-law, Asano Nagamasa, and his son. After the Battle of Sekigahara, Kōfu Castle fell into the hands of the Tokugawa family to whom it belonged until the end of the Tokugawa shogunate. In the early Edo period, Tokugawa Tsunatoyo became the heir of the fifth Shogun, and moved to Edo Castle. Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu then became the Lord of Kōfu Castle. Under his command the castle was fully repaired and the town was also developed. However, Yanagisawa was transferred and became the Lord of Yamato Kōriyama Castle. In the Kyōhō period which followed, Kai Province within which Kōfu Castle was situated came under the control of a retainer stationed in Kōfu. Also during this period, the honmaru of the palace and the Akagenenmon gate were destroyed by a large fire. Later in the Meiji period the castle was abandoned; around 1877, major buildings of the castle were destroyed. Thereafter the castle area was used as an industrial testing facility.
