Miyamoto Musashi VS Sasaki Kojiro in Ganryu island in 1612 (historical fact). Musashi fought with a long wooden sword and Kojiro with a 3-feet iron sword. Kojiro got angry because Musashi was always late for the time of duel. Musashi won duels 60 times in his life. Kojiro threw away his sword sheath then Musashi said "You've lost." cause that means the sheath is no longer usable. Musashi didn't put end to Kojiro's life because he fainted. Musashi felt so sad because he's lost the best rival in his life.

On a trip to Kyoto, Waka sensei, my friend Naho and I stumbled on a shop that stocks swords and samurai armor called Tozando. It was a treasure trove that the makers of Kill Bill would be proud of. In fact, the craftsmen who made the armor stocked in the shop also made the armor used in "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. According to the guy we spoke to, the armor and swords were all made recently but the armor was modeled in the style of the Sengoku period or "Warring states period" roughly 1478 to 1605. The craftsman ship was just incredible. The owners of Tozando kindly let us film in their shop and patiently answered all my questions. Visita ao Castelo de Okazaki. Vendo as vestimentas, armaduras, espadas katana, utensilios de guerra dos samurais. Bem legal. Talvez a imagem mais conhecida do "bushi", como é chamado o guerreiro medieval japonês, é a do samurai vestido com uma rica armadura, colorida e ornamentada. Ao contrário de sua congênere européia, de aspecto gótico e pesado, a "o-yoroi", um dos nomes pelo qual é denominada a armadura japonesa, não parece ser óbice aos movimentos do "bushi". A riqueza de materiais com que suas partes são produzidas eo esmero com que foram construídas lhe conferem ao mesmo tempo flexibilidade e resistência. As armaduras antigas, produzidas antes do século XVI, eram chamadas de: o-yoroi, kachu, haramaki, do-maru etc. Já as produzidas após este período, eram geralmente conhecidas como gusoku. Um grande samurai foi Miyamoto Musashi, um guerreiro que veio do campo. Os Samurais existiram por quase 8 séculos (século VIII ao XV), ocupando o mais alto status social porquanto existiu a ditadura militar nipônica denominada Shogunato. Pessoas treinadas desde pequenos para seguir o Bushido, o caminho do guerreiro. O samurai era uma pessoa muito orgulhosa, tanto que se seu nome fosse desonrado ele executaria o seppuku, era preferível morrer com honra do que viver sem honra.
